Hari Selasa Tanggal 19 Februari 2019 Dinas Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan Kabupaten Demak telah melaksanakan kegiatan Festival dan Lomba Seni Siswa Nasional (FLS2N) dan Festival Lomba Literasi Nasional (FL2N) Jenjang SD Tingkat Kabupaten Demak Tahun 2019 di UPTD DIKBUD Kec. Karanganyar.
Acara pembukaan kegiatan Festival dan Lomba Seni Siswa Nasional (FLS2N) dan Festival Lomba Literasi Nasional (FL2N) Jenjang SD Tingkat Kabupaten Demak Tahun 2019 yang diadakan di Gedung IPHI Kecamatan. Karanganyar dibuka langsung oleh Bupati Demak dan didampingi oleh Kepala Dinas Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan Kabupaten Demak. Acara pembukaan tersebut turut dihadiri oleh para Kepala Bidang Dinas Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan Kabupaten Demak dan Forkompincam Kecamatan Karanganyar.
Acara Festival dan Lomba Seni Siswa Nasional (FLS2N) dan Festival Lomba Literasi Nasional (FL2N) Jenjang SD Tingkat Kabupaten Demak Tahun 2019 bertujuan untuk memberikan wadah berkreasi dengan menampilkan karya kreatif dan inovatif bagi peserta didik dengan menjunjung sportifitas dalam pengembangan diri secara optimal sehingga dapat meningkatkan mutu pendidikan. Selain itu untuk mengembangkan ekspresi seni, membina, meningkatkan kreativitas, memotivasi peserta didik untuk mengekspresikan diri melalui kegiatan sesuai dengan minat, bakat, dan kemampuan siswa.
Kegiatan Festival dan Lomba Seni Siswa Nasional (FLS2N) dan Festival Lomba Literasi Nasional (FL2N) Jenjang SD Tingkat Kabupaten Demak Tahun 2019 ini menampilkan 10 cabang lomba diikuti sebanyak 168 siswa.

Dewan juri yang terdiri dari Pengawas, Guru Mata Pelajaran, Staf Dinas Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan Kabupaten Demak yang berkompeten di masing – masing cabang lomba menilai dan menentukan juara I, II, dan III pada masing-masing cabang yang dilombakan. Penilaian ini mendasar pada Pedoman Pelaksanaan Festival dan Lomba Seni Siswa Nasional Kegiatan Festival dan Lomba Seni Siswa Nasional (FLS2N) dan Festival Lomba Literasi Nasional (FL2N) Jenjang SD dari Direktorat Jenderal Pendidikan Dasar dan Menengah Kementerian Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan Republik Indonesia.
Juara I (pertama) Tahun 2019 pada masing masing cabang perlombaan akan mengikuti Lomba Tingkat Provinsi dan apabila menang di tingkat provinsi maka akan maju ke tingkat Nasional.
